Art Collecting By Us.ingBy.Us in conjunction with its mini-site Art Collecting By Us is announcing the launch of Sudarso.com.
Sudarso is one of the fathers of modern art in Indonesia and is considered the Indonesian ‘Master of Realism’. He is most famous for his portraits of women.

On the official Sudarso site there are a variety of galleries relating to his various art subjects including :

Besides being the inspirational father to a multide of Indonesian painters, Sudarso is also father to 5 painting sons. The most famous of these sons is Indonesia’s abstract guru Sudargono or ‘Gono’.

At Art Collecting By Us we strive to be more than a middle man in art acquisitions. We desire to be an educational tool to help you learn more about your art and the history of the artists.
That being said, JL Galleries has just added a Sudarso Gallery and biography. Many of the artists we work with are based in Indonesia. For those painters who are Indonesian, there is a great debt to be paid to the painters that broke ground and laid the way for the multitude of Indonesian painters to come.
We desire to pay homage to these masters by creating an online encyclopedia to give access to their works.
Besides being one of the fathers of modern art in Indonesia, Sudarso is the father of Sudargono or ‘Gono‘, a powerfully original abstract painter. Gono is Indonesia’s most avant-garde painter, and just as fundamental to the abstract artists of his generation as his father was to his peers.
So take a look at some of the historical foundation of Indonesian art culture. Admire their proclaimed “Master of Realism” and read about his life. After that, I recommend pa-rousing Gono’s new gallery and picking out which one you need to take home.

JL Galleries has joined forces with Dolce Italian Kitchen and European Steakhouse to enhance the entire culinary experience.
Executive Chef Jimmy Martinez of Dolce Restaurant will now be pairing his wonderful plates of food with beautiful art by painters Jesse Miller, Gono, Jason Monet, Steve Ladin and Kerry Pendergrast. Because of the variety of artists there is certainly a painting for everyone to connect with. Tuesday is martini night and Wednesday is wine tasting. Make reservations now!
